Day 31 my first trip to the movie theater

Day 31 January 17 2009 Saturday

Today me, a Korean teacher and another one of the foreign teachers went out to a movie at THC9. A theater near the subway station. Its a huge building. The theater is inside of Central Tower on the 14th floor.

When we got there we met up with the Korean teacher. Then We looked over the movie selection and chose "Yes Man" at 18:15pm. You get a number and wait till your number is on the screen then you go up and order your ticket. You also get to choose what seat you want. Assigned seating--i like that idea! When will the USA catch on?? The ticket was only 8,000 won so less than 8 dollars. The prices are also better over here.
We ate at a Korean restaurant on the same floor as the theater. I had chicken. I'm guessing its their version of bbq chicken? Anyway it was chicken with some brown sauce. It was good. We also had a rice omelet. It was rice inside of an egg just like an omelet. I liked it. Our meal was 7,000 won plus 1,000 won for the coke.

Then we went into the theater to see the movie. Nice theater. they had the stadium seating and it was comfortable. Not as big as an American theater like AMC but still a nice theater. The seats at the front are a good distance from the screen. We sat near the middle.

The movie was in English with Korean subtitles. That must suck for Koreans-esp those who don't know English. They have to read the subtitles during the movie to know what's going on. There was a part in the movie where Jim Carrey spoke some Korean. The movie was hilarious!

After the movie we went to an entertainment complex called Amusing World on the 8th floor of the central tower. It was neat. We all signed up for a membership. The membership card was only 1,000 won. You come in and they scan your card and for 8,000 won you can use the facility for 3 hours. They have tons of stuff to do: arcade, pool, ping pong, board games, darts, pc cafe, DVD room (you choose a dvd and go in a room and watch it), karaoke rooms, comic book rooms. They even have gaming systems in the pc cafe. I want to go in there and play wii. You can do all the activities for the time that you are in there. While I was there I played a few games in the arcade. I tried dance dance revolution again and I still suck! Me and the Korean teacher played some board games. I taught her Halli Galli (she won) and Make it or break it(we didn't keep score). We played 2 different versions of Make it or break it. Then I went to play darts with the other foreign teacher.

tomorrow me and the boys are going to Itaewon to attempt to get cell phones. We are meeting our recruiter at 1pm.
