South Korea welcomed their 10 millionth visitor in 2012 on November 21. This is the first time Korea had 10 million visitors in a single year. They hope to have 11.3 million visitors by the end of the year.

South Korea's new goal is to have 20 million visitors by 2020.

70% of visitors come to Seoul. They want to expand travel programs so more people will visit other areas of the country.

40% of visitors return to Korea for another visit.

I definitely recommend South Korea as a great travel destination. It's probably the only country that I will revisit since international travel is so expensive. Korea will always hold a special place in my heart.

South Korea is a very safe place. I never worried about my safety. They have a low crime rate and guns are illegal. The funny thing is that you rarely see the police out and about. When there is a protest they come out by the hundreds in tour buses.

Forget about personal space. Its not a concept in Korea. If you go to one of the bigger cities like Seoul it will be crowded and they will bump into you and keep going. Don't expect anyone to say "sorry". If you get on the subway during rush hour expect to be packed like sardines!! Watch out for scooters on the sidewalk!

South Korea is a mixture of modern and traditional. They have a lot of modern buildings and skyscrapers, but there are a lot of traditional buildings from the past.

There are so many things to do! Most of the tourist attractions are very cheap also. Most of the palaces only cost 1000 won which is about $1.00. The zoo only cost 3000 won which is about $3.00. You can go to a horse race for about $1.00. The amusement parks are more expensive, but worth the visit.

If you want some suggestions visit my "Things to Do and See" label on the left hand side of my blog. Almost all of my attractions were in Seoul.

There are a lot of shopping districts where you can pick up nice souvenirs.

Transportation is cheap and efficient! The subway system is very easy to navigate.

The food is great and not very expensive. If you are shy about trying new food there are fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Burger King, and KFC.
